Should you go for counseling or for CBT? It is a case of counseling vs CBT or they instead, complementary therapies?

First, Let's Define CBT

CBT, cognitive behavioral therapy is a clinically proven theory used in counseling or in therapy.

What Is Counseling?

Counseling consists of a certain set of skills, interventions, techniques and tools used in the counseling process by mental health practitioners and behavioral health specialists. The techniques are used with people seeking mental health and or behavioral modification.

Counseling is a way of talking to mental health therapy clients to bring about change and good positive results.

What Is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy?

Cognitive behavioral therapy is a pragmatic theoretical intervention used to assist clients change certain dysfunctional thought processes that result in maladaptive behaviors and poor sense of self.

CBT is about the client learning to change negative or harmful learned behaviors for positive ones.
