Do I Need A Doctor's Referral Before Getting Therapy?

Do you need a referral to see me?

The question is do you need a referral from a doctor or another health professional before I can see you.

If you' d like to see a doctor then by all means you must do so.

But in general, no, you do not need a referral from your doctor nor another health professional to see me. You will already know yourself if your life feels empty, or filled with sadness, negativity or anger such that therapy could help.

You know better than anyone else if there are areas in your life that aren't right, or don't feel right.

However, I would highly recommend that you seek mental health therapy if your doctor or another medical professional advises you to do so. Having the right combination of treatment is beneficial to your overall well-being.
